A West Garfield Park shooting left a woman critically injured in the 4300-block of West Adams Street late Friday night, Chicago police said.<\/p>\n

CHICAGO (WLS) — A person of interest is in custody in connection with a West Side shooting that critically injured a 19-year-old woman late Friday night, Chicago police said.<\/p>\n

Police said officers responded to a call about a person shot in the West Garfield Park neighborhood’s 4300-block of West Adams Street just before midnight.<\/p>\n

Responding officers found the victim, shot in the face and neck, unresponsive. She was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.<\/p>\n

A preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting happened inside of a home, police said.<\/p>\n

Officers recovered a weapon from the scene and took a person of interest into custody.<\/p>\n

Area Four detectives are investigating.<\/p>\n
