{"id":11293,"date":"2025-06-24T17:30:08","date_gmt":"2025-06-24T17:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/11293\/"},"modified":"2025-06-24T17:30:08","modified_gmt":"2025-06-24T17:30:08","slug":"concours-in-the-hills-raises-437000-for-phoenix-childrens-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/11293\/","title":{"rendered":"Concours in the Hills raises $437,000 for Phoenix Children&#8217;s | Community"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">The annual Concours in the Hills car show roared back into Fountain Park on April 19, raising more than $437,000 for Phoenix Children\u2019s through sponsorships, registrations, vendors and donations.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Presented by Discount Tire, the community-driven event featured more than 1,000 vehicles across categories such as European, Domestic, Asian, Race Cars, Off-Road and Motorcycles. Proceeds from this year\u2019s show benefit Phoenix Children\u2019s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and the Cardiothoracic Surgery Support Fund.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe community and sponsor support for this 11th anniversary event has been nothing short of extraordinary,\u201d said Peter Volny, founder and chairman emeritus of Concours in the Hills. \u201cAs members of the automotive community, it\u2019s an incredible honor to help drive meaningful change in the lives of the children and families served by Phoenix Children\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">A special display of limited-edition exotics drew large crowds, showcasing ultra-rare vehicles such as a Koenigsegg Trevita\u2014one of only two in existence\u2014a road-legal Gumpert Apollo, and a 1962 Ferrari 250 GT SWB, which was later awarded Best of Show.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Other award winners included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Best Domestic: 1967 Plymouth GTX<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Best Import: 1955 Austin Healey 100-4 BN1<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Best Race Car: 1936 Alfa Romeo Botticella Spider<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Best Car Club Display: Fountain Hills Automobile Club<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Best Off-Road: 2021 Jeep Wrangler<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Best Motorcycle: 2024 Ducati Panigale<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Originally scheduled for Feb. 15, the event was postponed due to inclement weather but still drew an estimated 40,000 attendees. The show featured seven helicopters\u2014including military aircraft such as a Black Hawk and Cobra\u2014and more than 85 sponsor booths and food vendors.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The event opened with a ceremony led by Volny and a lineup of retired professional drivers including Derek Daly, Didier Theys, Lyn St. James, Arie Luyendyk and Harley Cluxton. Darin Roberge of Motorw\u00ebrks Marketing emceed the program.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Concours in the Hills began in 2014 with just 220 vehicles and 3,000 spectators. Since then, it has grown into one of Arizona\u2019s premier auto shows, now hosted by Phoenix Children\u2019s with support from its auxiliary group, PCH50.
