After being signed to a 4-year $212 million deal to go cross-country from the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/basketball\/nba\/teams\/los-angeles-clippers\/12\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Los Angeles Clippers;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Los Angeles Clippers<\/a>, George averaged only 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists while his shooting percentages dropped to 43% overall and 35.8% from deep. Both numbers below his career norms.<\/p>\n<p>However, in George&#8217;s defense, he dealt with a variety of injuries that slowed him down. When he is right, George is one of the best players in this league and nobody questions that. He is a 9-time All-Star and has led both the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/basketball\/nba\/teams\/indiana-pacers\/11\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Indiana Pacers;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Indiana Pacers<\/a> and the Clippers to the conference finals in his career. An elite two-way player, George can score at a high level from three, the midrange and around the cup.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The only things really missing from George&#8217;s resume is an MVP award&#8211;he finished third in MVP voting in 2019&#8211;and a championship. He was close with the Pacers and the Clippers, but wasn&#8217;t able to get over the hump.
