There are also 29 advice warnings in place across the state.<\/p>\n
You can see all the latest alerts on the Hazard Watch<\/a> page.<\/p>\n There are also multiple road closures in place<\/b>.<\/p>\n So far, the following highways are closed due to flooding:<\/p>\n Meanwhile, these roads remain closed due to snow and ice:<\/p>\n Buses are replacing trains between Scone, Dungog and Newcastle Interchange on the Hunter Line.<\/p>\n Trains are not running on the SES warns against driving out in the snow<\/p>\n We’ve seen some pretty extraordinary video today of snow north of Tamworth and even in Queensland.<\/p>\n But Superintendent\u00a0Ian Robinson<\/b>\u00a0warned people to avoid driving out in the snow.<\/p>\n “It’s so risky, unless you’ve actually got snow chains, even a dusting of snow can hide the black ice underneath,” he said.<\/p>\n “Before you know it, you’re sliding and you’re not in control of your vehicle.<\/p>\n “It’s a lovely thing to play in the snow, but again, we advise caution.”<\/p>\n 5h agoSat 2 Aug 2025 at 11:14amSES expects weather will be ‘just a drizzle’ by tomorrow<\/p>\n The SES’s Superintendent\u00a0Ian Robinson <\/b>says they’re expecting the weather system will slowly move to the north and east.<\/p>\n “The expectation that most of this weather will have become just a drizzle by tomorrow,” he said.<\/p>\n “With any luck, that’ll be the case.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n 5h agoSat 2 Aug 2025 at 11:09amFloodwaters should flow through ‘fairly quickly’, SES says<\/p>\n Superintendent\u00a0Ian Robinson <\/b>says six Watch and Acts remain in place.<\/p>\n This includes four areas \u2014 Bandon Grove<\/b>, Alison Road<\/b>, Bendolba <\/b>and Calala <\/b>\u2014 which are being warned to prepare to isolate.<\/p>\n “The expectation is that they may actually get cut off and become isolated,” he said.<\/p>\n “However, our flood analysts are assuring us that most of this water is simply going to flow through fairly quickly.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n He warned people to remain “extremely cautious” around poorly-lit causeways and backroads.<\/p>\n 5h agoSat 2 Aug 2025 at 11:03amNSW SES: Mid North Coast ‘absolutely smashed’ by rain and wind<\/p>\n We’ve just had another update from Superintendent Ian Robinson<\/b>, deputy commander for the SES’s northern zone.<\/p>\n He told ABC Newcastle that the Mid North Coast<\/b>, particularly Kempsey<\/b>, have been “absolutely smashed” by rain and wind this afternoon.<\/p>\n “They’re suffering power outages that are possibly going to extend into tomorrow,” he said.<\/p>\n “A number of roofs are off in that area as well.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n He says SES crews have now been stood down in that area for the night, due to safety hazards and the darkness.<\/p>\n “But they’ll be back on deck again first light in 2025 at 9:44amSnowfall takes ‘many people by surprise’ We’ve just heard from my colleague Claire Simmonds<\/b> who is reporting live from Dorrigo <\/b>in the Northern Tablelands.<\/p>\n She told ABC News she’s spent the day touring the Ebor <\/b>and Guyra <\/b>areas, which have seen “very intense” snowfall.<\/p>\n The snowfall has taken “many people by surprise”, she says.<\/p>\n “Quite a lot of them did get trapped by the closed roads,” she says.<\/p>\n “So they had about 200 people to rescue at one point.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n She’s reminded people that several Watch and Act alerts<\/a> Queensland<\/b>!<\/p>\n Sheree Anderson<\/b> lives on a property just north of Dalveen near the Braeside homestead.<\/p>\n “The temperature dropped suddenly from 7 degrees to 2 degrees and snowed for about five to 10 mins,” she told the ABC.<\/p>\n “Just lightly, not really enough to settle on the ground.<\/p>\n “So it has officially snowed in QLD!”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n She says they bought the property three years ago, and have been promising the kids that it sometimes snows there.<\/p>\n “They wait eagerly each winter and watch the temperature gauge drop,” she said.<\/p>\n “So it was nice highest city below the official snow line at an elevation of almost 1,000 metres above sea level.<\/p>\n North Western SES zone commander Stuart Fisher <\/b>urged motorists to take care even as the temperature changes.<\/p>\n “As the temperature starts to change, we do get black ice and [drivers] need to be very, very careful,” he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n What is ‘black ice’, you
