Alexander Zverev has faced many different players during his time on the ATP Tour.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Over the past decade the German has faced tennis\u2019 greatest icons such as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, Zverev is competing against Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> and Jannik Sinner<\/a>, the brightest stars of today.<\/p>\n

The 28-year-old has had varying degrees of success against those players, but there are two in particular that he finds more difficult to beat.<\/p>\n

Alexander Zverev<\/a> appeared as a special guest on the latest edition of the Nothing Major podcast.<\/p>\n

During the episode he named two players he finds it most annoying to play against. It would be no surprise if he named the likes of Djokovic or Sinner.<\/p>\n

But Zverev\u2019s two most annoying players to face are Daniil Medvedev<\/a> and Francisco Cerundolo<\/a>, and he explained why.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor me the most obvious answer is Daniil Medvedev. I have lost to him like 78 times,\u201d Zverev said. \u201cEven now I am ranked three in the world and he is ranked 14 and I still lose to him in Halle.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe turns into prime Novak Djokovic every time he plays against me and I\u2019m like I don\u2019t even play that badly!\u201d He added: \u201cCerundolo, I am 0-3 against him and I have won one set. All on clay, twice in Madrid.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have four losses in Madrid in my entire career and two of them came against him. And both were straight sets. I just felt like a complete fool, I had no idea what I was doing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zverev has faced Medvedev on 20 occasions, and he made a bright start to their rivalry by winning five of their first six meetings.<\/p>\n

But the world number three has only won two of the following 14 encounters against the Russian, and he lost their most recent meeting at the Halle Open in three sets.<\/p>\n

Zverev has only faced Cerundolo on three occasions, but he has yet to secure a victory against the Argentinian.<\/p>\n

Each of their previous matches took place on clay, two of which were played at the last two editions of the Madrid Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Zverev will face Cerundolo for a fourth time when they do battle at the Canadian Open<\/a>, which will be their first meeting on a hard court.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Alexander Zverev has faced many different players during his time on the ATP Tour.
