When they learn that one of their victims, Maya (Madelaine Petsch), is still alive, they return to finish what they\u2019ve started. With nowhere to run and no one to trust, Maya must survive another horrific chapter of terror as The Strangers \u2013 driven by a senseless, unceasing purpose \u2013 pursue her, more than willing to kill anyone who stands in their way.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/the-strangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Strangers<\/a>: Chapter 2\u00a0, set for wide theatrical release on Sept. 26 by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/lionsgate\/\" id=\"auto-tag_lionsgate_1\" data-tag=\"lionsgate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lionsgate<\/a>, has Petsch reprise her role in the sequel after starring in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/the-strangers-chapter-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Strangers: Chapter 1<\/a>, which collected $48 million globally. The stand-alone trilogy from Harlin reboots the franchise that began with the 2008 film\u00a0The Strangers, starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tChapter 1 stayed true to Bryan Bertino\u2019s 2008 horror classic,\u00a0The Strangers, only reimagining a scenario where an analogue for Liv Tyler\u2019s character, Petsch\u2019s Maya, survives the central home invasion to set up\u00a0Chapter Two\u00a0and\u00a0Three as she plays the main protagonist. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tGabriel Basso and Ema Horvath also star in The Strangers: Chapter 2, which Harlin directed from a screenplay by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland.
