Brooke Hogan is in mourning over the death of her father, Hulk Hogan, but her husband, Steven Olesky, is setting the record straight about their two-year feud.<\/a><\/p>\n

Fans have been speculating online that Hulk\u2019s third marriage to Sky Daily was an issue for Brooke. The late wrestler married Daily in 2023, right around the time of the father-daughter rift, so that could be a natural reason why people think she came between Hulk and Brooke. But Olesky told People<\/a> that the narrative is false while clarifying what the real issue was.<\/a><\/p>\n

Brooke found that supporting her dad through his multiple controversies had \u201creally taken a toll on her.\u201d Even though \u201cshe loved her dad very, very much,\u201d it was time for her to put up a healthy boundary for her own mental health. Olesky noted that they tried to heal the fractured relations through a \u201cseries of phone calls\u201d after Hulk refused to walk her down the aisle at her 2022 wedding. Unfortunately, \u201cthere were some things said, and a lot of mistruths,\u201d per Olesky, and they severed ties for good.<\/p>\n

Brooke\u2019s husband \u201cremained in contact with members of her family to try to keep that door open\u201d just in case a reconciliation was possible, but it did not happen. She had been supportive of her dad for years, even though his actions caused a lot of hurt from cheating on her mother<\/a>, Linda Hogan, to his liberal use of racial slurs, but Brooke finally reached her breaking point.<\/p>\n

The 37-year-old singer, who is now a mom to 7-month-old twins<\/a>, Oliver Andrew and Molly Gene, defended herself over their estrangement in a July 29 Instagram tribute<\/a> to her late father.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know, or understand,\u201d she wrote in her post. \u201cMy father was confiding in me about issues weighing on his heart, both personal and business. I offered to be a life raft <\/a>in whatever capacity he needed. I told him he had my support. I begged him to rest, to take care of himself.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was telling me these things, being so vulnerable with me and heard my pleas, then suddenly something shifted, and he made a choice to walk the path that clearly tore at his spirit,\u201d she continued. \u201cI know in my heart I did everything I could. He knew I would run through a burning building for him. And in many ways, along the path of life, I did. He knows how deeply, how hard and how purely I loved him. I am at peace knowing this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brooke spoke her piece in that final phone call to Hulk \u2014 and only those two will know and understand why they could never heal their rift.<\/p>\n
