Five Dallas women were killed in a traffic crash on July 25 in Central Texas, according to the state\u2019s Department of Public Safety.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the department identified them as Thalia Salinas, Ruby Cruz, Brianna Valadez, Desiree Cervantes, and Jacqueline Velazco. In a Facebook post<\/a>, the mother of one of the five women said they were all \u201cbest friends.\u201d <\/p>\n

Troopers responded to the crash at about 6 p.m. on US 281 near Park Road 4 in Burnet County, according to the statement. <\/p>\n

A RAM 4500 truck pulling a livestock trailer was traveling northbound on US 281 when it crossed into the southbound lanes, the statement said. The truck then hit a Chevrolet Malibu head-on, before striking a Mercedes SUV traveling behind the Malibu. <\/p>\n

The Mercedes subsequently overturned and caught fire, according to DPS. <\/p>\n
