A worker at a Brooklyn mini-mart died after he was stabbed in an apparent unprovoked attack at the shop’s counter, according to law enforcement sources.<\/p>\n
Police were called just after 3 p.m. to the deli and mini market on the corner of Hegeman Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in East New York. Responding officers found the 33-year-old worker stabbed multiple times in his stomach.<\/p>\n
The victim was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where he died, police said. He was later identified as Diego Sandoval-Nava, and he lived in the same building where the market is located.<\/p>\n
No arrests have yet been made. Law enforcement sources said it was believed to be an unprovoked attack by a man who tried to get behind the counter, and stabbed the employee in the process.<\/p>\n
