She ruled \u201890s primetime as TV mom Jill Taylor on Home Improvement<\/a>, and now Patricia Richardson<\/strong> is turning heads again thanks to a rare selfie that\u2019s catching attention online.<\/p>\n

The photo, originally shared in February, is recirculating thanks to fans rediscovering the post<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At 74, Richardson looks casually chic in a black button-down shirt, but it\u2019s her hair transformation that\u2019s stealing the spotlight. She\u2019s traded her signature brunette style for silver-gray waves, and fans are loving the look.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeautiful. I can\u2019t wait for grey hair,\u201d one Instagram user wrote in the comments section of the February 25 post.<\/p>\n

Another added, \u201cPatricia you are just as beautiful as you were when you did Home Improvement.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richardson became a household name in the \u201890s, opposite Tim Allen<\/strong><\/a> on ABC\u2019s hit sitcom, but many fans may not know she was cast at the last minute, replacing actress Frances Fisher <\/strong>after test audiences found the original dynamic too harsh.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrances is a very good actress, and her character was upset,\u201d Carmen Finestra<\/strong>, co-creator and executive producer of Home Improvement, told the Los Angeles Times<\/a> in March 2024. \u201cBut the audience was thinking, \u2018This guy is a brute.\u2019 You\u2019re not going to feel very sympathetic toward the male character if you feel like he\u2019s abusive. Pat made it the comedy that we hoped it would be. It was unbelievable what she did. I mean, it made the show work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richardson previously told The Times that she never wanted to \u201cplay the thankless wife,\u201d and she stood her ground amid a room full of male writers.<\/p>\n

\u201cPat was the only woman down on that set almost all of the time, and I was very often the only woman writer in the room,\u201d writer and co-executive producer Rosalind Moore<\/strong> said. \u201cWhen she was surrounded by all that testosterone, she would still hold her ground. There were times when she said, \u2018You know what? I have three kids. I wouldn\u2019t say this to my children.\u2019 And she was always right. She always made it better.\u201d<\/p>\n

While several other hit shows from the \u201890s have seen a resurgence, Home Improvement hasn\u2019t been one of them, something Richardson blamed on Hollywood \u201cnot liking\u201d Tim Allen\u2019s politics. It hasn\u2019t put a dent in her pride, though.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really proud of what it meant to our audience,\u201d Richardson explained. \u201cI don\u2019t care what anybody says, I\u2019m proud of the legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n
