Shelter dogs that were already exposed are currently being quarantined, while testing is happening to understand the impact, according to Saturday news release. <\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">\u201cWe are working with subject matter experts on the best way to address this issue,\u201d the DAS said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avma.org\/public\/PetCare\/Pages\/Canine-Distemper.aspx\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">American Veterinary Medical Association<\/a> says dogs with distemper can develop symptoms such as discharge-filled eyes and noses, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy and convulsions.
