{"id":114605,"date":"2025-08-03T03:20:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-03T03:20:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/114605\/"},"modified":"2025-08-03T03:20:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-03T03:20:11","slug":"everton-ready-to-hire-big-beasts-behind-the-scenes-as-dan-friedkin-lines-up-multiple-new-deals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/114605\/","title":{"rendered":"Everton ready to hire &#8216;big beasts&#8217; behind the scenes as Dan Friedkin lines up multiple new deals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>It has been nearly eight months since The Friedkin Group completed their takeover of Everton and things seem to be ticking along nicely behind the scenes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TFG\u2019s decision to bring <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/david-moyes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">David Moyes<\/a> back as manager helped the club survive in the Premier League, and the balance sheet and debt structure have been tidied up too.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/everton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Everton<\/a> are therefore in a good place ahead of their big move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and Goodison Park has also been secured as the stadium for the women\u2019s team.<\/p>\n<p>However, TFG are not resting on their laurels \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/4-5bn-deal-cited-as-dan-friedkin-plotting-to-inject-more-cash-into-everton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Everton\u2019s owners recently set up a company called Pursuit Sports<\/a>, which will house the group\u2019s sports investments.<\/p>\n<p>Pursuit Sports will be responsible for supporting and running a portfolio which, alongside\u00a0Everton, also includes Italian giants AS Roma, and French fourth-tier club AS Cannes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tbrfootball.com\/topic\/dan-friedkin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dan Friedkin<\/a> wants to buy a \u2018big four\u2019 American franchise (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB) for the group too, which would be a statement of his ambitions at Everton and in global sport.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Everton have appointed former Fenway Sports Group executive Dave Beeston to run the company as CEO.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TBR Football<\/strong>\u00a0spoke exclusively to football finance expert Kieran Maguire about what TFG\u2019s latest venture might mean for Everton.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/GettyImages-1416831643-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Dan Friedkin and Ryan Friedkin during the friendly match Roma v Shakhtar Donetsk at the Olympic Stadium, Rome, on 7 August 2022\" class=\"wp-image-906748\" \/>Photo by Massimo Insabato\/Archivio Massimo Insabato\/Mondadori Portfolio via Getty ImagesThe Friedkin Group see \u2018growth opportunities at Everton and beyond\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Maguire described FSG\u2019s appointment of Beeston to head Pursuit Sports as \u201cthe right decision\u201d and, while the \u201cjury is still out\u201d on the multi-sports model, there is certainly scope for economies of scale.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCertainly on a personnel side, they have made the right decision,\u201d said Maguire. \u201cHe (Beeston) has the scars \u2013 he knows what works and what doesn\u2019t. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe multi-sports model, as opposed to the multi-club one, is intriguing. I don\u2019t think we have necessarily seen the benefits to date. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe understand how the model works in theory. Does it work in practice? I think the jury is still out, and I think the same goes for the multi-club structure. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt allows you to employ big beasts, people who have vast experience in marketing, commercial arrangements and networking with the right kind of partners. That can only work at the elite level. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s clear that The Friedkin Group wants to go down this particular route.
