(KGNS) &#8211; A San Antonio man will spend a little over three years in federal prison for smuggling undocumented people into the U.S.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Back in February, Jonathan Ray Balderas pleaded guilty to the charges for a human smuggling case that was reported on I-35 near mile marker 29 in Nov. Of 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to court documents, Balderas tried to bring ten people into the country by loading them up in the bed of his truck and using a thin tarp to cover it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Reports say authorities pulled the truck over after they noticed an outline of people inside the bed of the truck.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">There they found undocumented migrants who were from Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Balderas was sentenced to three years and five months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">For more headlines, click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kgns.tv\/news\/local\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 KGNS.
