Not only does he drive his NASCAR Cup race car, but he also works on it mechanically, then puts on his co-owner\u2019s hat of RFK Racing with Jack Roush and John W. Henry, handling numerous administrative duties, buying new equipment, and more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:400\" data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-2\" class=\"data-event\">Basically, anything the team needs, Keselowski is usually the guy who gets the call to do the work. Moreover, he is quite intelligent and isn\u2019t afraid to criticize NASCAR if he feels the sanctioning body is wrong. Likewise, if NASCAR does something right in his eyes, he is usually quick to pat the organization on the back.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:400\" data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-3\" class=\"data-event\">Like this week\u2019s scoop by Ad Age, which reported that NASCAR is going through a selection process of interviewing 11 different marketing agencies to find the right one that will enhance the sport\u2019s image and hopefully pump out commercials and the like that will attract fans who\u2019ve left the sport, as well as bring in new ones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:400\" data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-4\" class=\"data-event\">Keselowski is more than willing to help NASCAR spread its message and strengthen its voice. He recently appeared in a video with former bitter rival and now friend Kyle Busch that was well received.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:400\" data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-5\" class=\"data-event\">But <a href=\"https:\/\/thesportsrush.com\/tag\/brad-keselowski\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-utm_source=\"article\" data-utm_medium=\"content\" data-utm_campaign=\"link\">Keselowski<\/a> was even more impressed by how the folks at NASCAR Productions put together a three-minute video that promoted next June\u2019s highly anticipated \u201cstreet race\u201d on Naval Base Coronado in San Diego.<\/p>\n<p>NASCAR is trying to reshape its image<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:400\" data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-6\" class=\"data-event\">There\u2019s a caveat to that, though, according to Keselowski. He feels NASCAR should have done this kind of marketing push 10 years ago.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:400\" data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-7\" class=\"data-event\">\u201cI think they\u2019re doing a lot of things that were sorely needed a decade ago and we\u2019re kind of at least heeding those lessons,\u201d Keselowski <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=76VFXk77HC0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-utm_source=\"article\" data-utm_medium=\"content\" data-utm_campaign=\"link\">said<\/a> during media availability on Saturday at Iowa Speedway. \u201cI look at the driver ambassador program, look at some of the marketing initiatives they\u2019ve brought in and they\u2019re star-power oriented. I think it\u2019s exactly what the sport needed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:400\" data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-8\" class=\"data-event\">\u201cThe sport has to be realistic with itself that it went a decade or so of really weak marketing efforts. You\u2019re not just going to recover from that overnight, but they\u2019re doing the right things, I think now, to put the sport into a growth trajectory and that\u2019s exciting to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:400\" data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-9\" class=\"data-event\">Keselowski laughed when he was asked if he will start taking acting lessons in the event his personality and aura are needed for more NASCAR promotional videos and the like.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight:400\" data-type=\"content\" data-variant=\"p\" id=\"article-content-block-10\" class=\"data-event\">\u201cIt\u2019s more than that, it\u2019s engaging in all kinds of different mediums that are bigger or broader than commercials and promotions,\u201d Keselowski said in a serious tone. \u201cI think we\u2019re seeing a lot of that happen in ways and certainly with a velocity we didn\u2019t see in the last decade or so.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Brad Keselowski is a versatile multi-tasker.
