Newcastle United have been warned off Giorgio Scalvini after their interest in the 6ft 4in centre-back circulated in Bergamo.<\/p>\n
One report in TuttoAtalanta says that the 21-year-old is seen as “untouchable” in the transfer market and is not for sale.<\/p>\n
Chronicle Live reported back in November 2024 how Steve Nickson had scouted the talented star and the Magpies had kept tabs on his fitness after injuries.<\/p>\n
But Scalvini has emerged as a possible summer target<\/a> this week and sums up the type of profile Newcastle are looking at. TuttoAtalanta report today: “Giorgio Scalvini is untouchable. Atalanta has forcefully reiterated it is a no to Newcastle, who in recent days have tested the waters for the central defender from Bergamo.”<\/p>\n Italian reports also throw in a ballbark figure between \u00a340m-\u00a350m for the defensive star. Scalvini is deemed the future of not only the 2023 Europa League winners but also of Italian football moving forward.<\/p>\n A move for Scalvini should be deemed as exciting if Newcastle can pull it off, and while the big centre-half has struggled with injuries in recent times, he is deemed the future of Italian football with eight caps to his name already.<\/p>\n Nickson was impressed with the right-footed centre-back’s ease on the ball, while his aerial prowess should speak for itself.<\/p>\n He could make a formidable long-term partner for Sven Botman and would be able to learn from the likes of Dan Burn and Fabian Schar in his early years at the club.<\/p>\n Whether the Serie A side <\/a>can hold on to Scalvini remains to be seen but he has expressed a desire to test himself in the Premier League.<\/p>\n Back in the day Italian football was looked at as the place to play, but the roles have reversed down the decades and England is the top league in world football now.<\/p>\n Scalvini told Corriere dello Sport<\/a>: “For me it\u2019s the best league there is, for the intensity.
