If you\u2019re a \u201cphone eats first\u201d type of person, then your foodie photography skills could earn you a few bucks the next time you order on Uber Eats<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, the food delivery giant announced new initiatives it was rolling out to better support its restaurant partners, including new AI tools to help elevate menu descriptions and photos. The company also shared an opportunity for users.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know customers are more likely to order a dish when they can see what it looks like \u2013 so we\u2019re introducing a new feature that invites Uber Eats users to snap a photo of their delivery if the item doesn\u2019t yet have a menu image,\u201d the company wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It went on to explain that Uber Eats users in the U.S. could earn $3 in UberCash if their photo is chosen. To participate, users can submit their photos on the rate order screen post-delivery by tapping on the section that says \u201cAdd Photos.\u201d<\/p>\n

This incentive may not be available for all restaurants on the app, though. Users should look for the Uber Cash incentive banner at the top of a restaurant\u2019s page to determine if their meal photos are eligible for rewards.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Uber Eats has provided guidelines<\/a> for user-submitted photos. To increase the chances of a photo getting selected, users should take their photos in natural light and at a top-down or 45-degree angle to effectively showcase the ingredients. <\/p>\n

Items should be photographed before eating and, when applicable, should be cut in half to highlight the layers inside. Users are also advised not to submit AI-generated or heavily edited images as the company is looking for authentic photos.<\/p>\n
