Former NASCAR Cup Series champion Martin Truex Jr. now owns a private jet company after retiring from full-time racing at the end of the 2024 season<\/a>. Truex Jr. won his first and only Cup Series championship in 2017, clinching the title in the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead\u2013Miami Speedway, edging out rival Kyle Busch.<\/p>\n

Truex Jr. hasn’t left NASCAR<\/a> entirely, though, with the 45-year-old competing at the 2025 Daytona 500<\/a>. Now, in retirement, Truex Jr. is stepping up his business ventures with a private aviation company called MTJ Aviation.<\/p>\n

The company provides 24\/7 medical flight services, catering to Transplant Centers Nationwide. Bringing his high standards from professional motorsport to aviation, Truex Jr. hand-selected pilots and trained them to the highest standards to provide the best service.<\/p>\n

“I decided to launch a private aviation charter company because of our experience flying to NASCAR races every weekend over the last decade or so,” said Truex Jr. “MTJ Aviation offers a refreshing alternative because there are no fractional ownerships or long-term contracts, we simply fly you from point A to point B safely at a reasonable cost.”<\/p>\n

Truex Jr. has surrounded himself with a competent team with vast experience in the aviation field. MTJ Aviation’s Chief Pilot is Guy Cooper, who has over 15 years of experience in corporate aviation, including time as a jet captain at Delta Private Jets. Their Director of Maintenance is Ron Dietz II, who has over 20 years of experience as an airframe and power plant technician.<\/p>\n

Shortly before competing at the Daytona 500, Truex Jr. lost his father, Truex Sr., aged 66. Truex Jr. and his brothers released a heartfelt statement in January confirming their dad’s passing.<\/p>\n

“We are devastated by the loss of our father,” Martin Jr. and\u00a0Ryan Truex\u00a0said. “Simply put, he was our hero and a great man. We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers and ask for privacy at this time.”<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything I\u2019ve ever learned was from him,\u201d Truex Jr. also said at the Daytona 500. \u201cHe was my hero growing up and still is. He made a lot of things happen for me.<\/p>\n

“Taught me a lot of things with racing and really the opportunity to get here and what I\u2019ve accomplished is all because of him and his sacrifices. Hopefully we\u2019ll go win this thing for him on Sunday.\u201d<\/p>\n
