ABC7<\/p>\n<p>The nightmarish incident took place last week at Green Mountain Park in Taif near the country\u2019s western coast, located around 175 miles east of the Red Sea.<\/p>\n<p>Video <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/just_whatever\/status\/1950815117324517442?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1950815117324517442%7Ctwgr%5Ef654ffa036e95800ff29e7151447c580b80ff535%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fturnto10.com%2Fnews%2Fnation-world%2F23-hurt-as-ride-at-amusement-park-breaks-and-crashes-to-ground-reports-reports-green-mountain-park-taif-saudi-arabia-360-degrees-injured-injuries-hospital-treatment-investigation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted on social media<\/a> shows the ride rapidly swinging back and forth as it spins strapped-in passengers moments before the ride broke with a chilling metallic snap and crunching sound. The person shooting the footage and others back away from the wreckage, video shows.<\/p>\n<p>Four of those injured were brought to a local hospital in critical condition. ABC7<\/p>\n<p>Witnesses said some of the injuries happened when the ride\u2019s central support pole rapidly recoiled after the wheel became unmoored, which was at a more than 90-degree angle relative to the ground at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Miraculously, the wheel righted itself as it fell and landed relatively flatly, which could account for nobody ending up dead as local media reported.<\/p>\n<p>The injured riders were treated by the Saudi Red Crescent Authority at the scene, which several witnesses described as \u201cchaotic.\u201d The injured were then taken to a nearby hospital.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the Al-Hada regional government said the governor of Taif, Prince Saud bin Nahar bin Saud Bin Abdulaziz, ordered the park closed as an investigation gets underway, which will include assessing other rides for safety concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Green Mountain Park wasn\u2019t the only amusement park to experience a disaster this summer.<\/p>\n<p>The park has been ordered closed while officials conduct an investigation, including checking other rides for safety issues.
