The American rock comedy band, Green Jell\u00ff, have fired a member over a meme posted to one of their social media accounts that made fun of Ozzy Osbourne<\/a>\u2018s substance abuse in light of his recent passing.<\/p>\n

The death of Ozzy Osbourne was announced<\/a> on July 22nd. It was later revealed that he passed away at the family home in Buckinghamshire, England, after returning to the UK for his farewell concert earlier this month at Villa Park in Birmingham, where he performed with Black Sabbath for the last time.<\/p>\n

While most of the music world and beyond have respectfully paid tribute to the \u2018Prince of Darkness\u2019, Green Jell\u00ff chose a different route.<\/p>\n

The meme posted shortly after his passing featured a photoshopped image of Osbourne holding a sign that read \u201cOne Day Sober.\u201d Frontman Bill Manspeaker claims he deleted the post as soon as he realised it had been posted. He swiftly blamed the incident on former band member Micheal \u201cFr33to F33t\u201d Snyder.<\/p>\n

In a now-deleted post, as per Loudwire<\/a>, the band\u2019s official Facebook page posted a lengthy statement explaining the saga. It began, \u201cI allowed a green jello member control of my green jello page,\u201d however, \u201cRecently he posted a extremely rude video about Ozzy Dying that I found highly offensive & I immediately took it down\u2026the guy lost his mind & instantly started to demonize me on Facebook\u2026Now it\u2019s gotten beyond the point of non stop harassment\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

The post, written by frontman Bill Manspeaker, dissected their past relationship. He wrote, \u201cThis person has been participating in my band for over 10 years\u2026Being my best buddy asking me to sign these 20 cds so he can sell them on line\u2026He\u2019s maybe played 10 shows in 10 years and doesn\u2019t even plug in his bass when on stage\u2026he just wants the selfie of him on stage\u2026everything was fine until the moment I take down his distasteful meme about Ozzys death\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Manspeaker then accused Snyder of trying to \u201ccancel\u201d him, which has ensued in a \u201ccomplete shit show.\u201d <\/p>\n

The band are known for their 1992 hit and music video \u2018Three Little Pigs\u2019, which used the classic children\u2019s tale to ironise the world around them. Notably, Maynard James Keenan was an early member of the band. Keenan, now part of the band Tool, played at the Black Sabbath farewell show alongside Osbourne only weeks before his death.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
