PHOENIX \u2014 The Scottsdale Trolley will open a new route on Thursday with a 30-minute loop around three community service centers.<\/p>\n

Much of the reason for the new route is to provide more accessibility to the recently relocated and expanded Scottsdale Food Bank, which is now located at McKellips and Miller roads<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted to ensure that residents who rely on the Scottsdale Food Bank and do not have access to personal transportation can continue receiving the support they need,\u201d Scottsdale Human Services manager Sue Oh said in a Friday announcement<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis new trolley route helps remove transportation barriers and strengthens our ability to meet the needs of some of our community\u2019s most vulnerable residents.\u201d<\/p>\n

Access to the food bank is also important for seniors on the Brown Bag Program, which provides produce, canned goods, bread and more to seniors and other participants on a bi-monthly basis.<\/p>\n

Details on new Scottsdale Trolley route<\/p>\n

The three stops for the new route will be at the Granite Reef Senior Center (north parking lot), Vista del Camino Community Center (existing stop) and Scottsdale Food Bank (Building C at new location).<\/p>\n

The half-hour loop will run from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursdays.<\/p>\n
