The camping experience includes a variety of outdoor recreation activities like fishing, archery, kayaking, geocaching and more – all with equipment provided. Registration will be available online at AZStateParks.com/Family.

“Arizona Family Campout is one of the ways our amazing team is working hard to connect people with Arizona’s plentiful recreation opportunities,” said Bob Broscheid, executive director of Arizona State Parks and Trails. “Families who participate say that they are life-changing weekends that really introduce them to the parks and the ways they can enjoy them, and our program is also award-winning.”

The program also supports the next generation of outdoor recreation enthusiasts by including a stewardship project at each campout. Stewardship projects are family-friendly and range from activities like picking up litter to planting trees. Last year, the program was recognized for its commitment to environmental education with an Environmental Excellence award from Arizona Forward.

Locations for this season’s campout include exclusive destinations that do not normally permit camping, including Tonto Natural Bridge State Park which is the first campout of the season scheduled Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 6 and 7, as well as Slide Rock and Oracle state parks. This popular program fills quickly, so interested families are encouraged to sign up right away.

Registration costs $90 for a family of four, or $120 for the season’s two-night campout offered at Roper Lake State Park in Safford Friday through Sunday, Oct. 17 through 19.

Registration for each additional family member is $5 per person. Children age 6 and older are welcome to attend, and accessible campouts are available for people with disabilities.

Additional program details, reviews from previous participants, and registration information are available at AZStateParks.com/Family. The program’s mission is connecting people to the outdoors and history of Arizona to build a lifetime of memories.

Call (877) MY-PARKS or visit AZStateParks.com for information about the more than 30 Arizona state parks and natural areas, trails, Off-Highway Vehicle program, and State Historic Preservation Office.

Arizona State Parks and Trails has opened registration for its popular Arizona Family Campout program, designed to eliminate…

[5131
5229,5643,73194,1587,1589,1072,67,586,132,5230,68,2969
0":"post-116899","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-phoenix","8":"tag-america","9":"tag-arizona","10":"tag-arizona-state-parks-and-trails","11":"tag-az","12":"tag-phoenix","13":"tag-things-to-do","14":"tag-united-states","15":"tag-united-states-of-america","16":"tag-unitedstates","17":"tag-unitedstatesofamerica","18":"tag-us","19":"tag-usa
["GET
