{"id":117298,"date":"2025-08-04T04:25:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-04T04:25:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/117298\/"},"modified":"2025-08-04T04:25:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-04T04:25:11","slug":"kerrville-residents-demand-accountability-after-deadly-july-4-flood-at-committee-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/117298\/","title":{"rendered":"Kerrville residents demand accountability after deadly July 4 flood at committee meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN ANTONIO \u2014 One of the big stories we&#8217;re following is the disaster preparedness and flooding committee meeting in Kerrville.<\/p>\n<p>Lawmakers and city leaders were hit with a barrage of questions in Kerrville last week, as the community demanded answers into the July 4 flooding that killed more than 100 people along the Guadalupe River.<\/p>\n<p>Kerr county neighbors are angry about the lack of evacuation orders issued, calling it complacency on the part of county leaders.<\/p>\n<p>Another tough question for lawmakers should the power of issuing evacuations be expanded from solely the county judge and mayor?<\/p>\n<p>Lawmakers brought up the idea of standards or requirements for emergency management leaders.
