{"id":117758,"date":"2025-08-04T08:42:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-04T08:42:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/117758\/"},"modified":"2025-08-04T08:42:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-04T08:42:10","slug":"german-football-expert-says-benjamin-sesko-has-man-utd-as-first-choice-wants-one-guarantee-from-red-devils","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/117758\/","title":{"rendered":"German football expert says Benjamin Sesko has Man Utd as first choice, wants one guarantee from Red Devils"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Manchester United are battling Newcastle to land German striker Benjamin Sesko.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Benjamin Sesko is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/how-man-utd-will-fund-stunning-benjamin-sesko-move-christopher-vivell-wins-battle-to-pursue-striker\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester United\u2019s first choice striker target<\/a>, and negotiations are ongoing to land the RB Leipzig forward.<\/p>\n<p>The Red Devils are attempting to persuade <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/tag\/benjamin-sesko\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Benjamin Sesko<\/a> to commit his future to the club, amid competition from Newcastle, who have already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/newcastle-may-have-just-repeated-ekitike-error-with-sesko-with-manchester-united-in-contact-over-move\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">charged in unsuccessfully with a bid<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/benjamin-sesko-left-out-of-rb-leipzig-squad-for-pre-season-friendly-amid-man-utd-transfer-link\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sesko was left out of RB Leipzig\u2019s squad<\/a> for their friendly game at the weekend as the uncertainty over his future goes on.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"703\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/GettyImages-2217797606-1024x703.jpg\" alt=\"RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko\" class=\"wp-image-288641\" \/>Photo by Ulrik Pedersen\/NurPhoto via Getty ImagesBenjamin Sesko update<\/p>\n<p>Benjamin Sesko, 22, is a striker with incredibly high potential, who could follow Alexander Isak\u2019s success in the Premier League.<\/p>\n<p>He is a player Manchester United have been tracking for years, who was previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/christopher-vivell-players-scouted-top-five-finds-by-man-uniteds-latest-hire\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">signed for Red Bull Salzburg by Christopher Vivell<\/a>, the Red Devils\u2019 current recruitment lead.<\/p>\n<p>The Premier League season kicks off in a fortnight and Manchester United would ideally close a deal this week.<\/p>\n<p>German football expert Jan-Aage Fjortoft underlines that both clubs in the race cannot wait \u2018indefinitely\u2019 for Sesko to make his mind up.<\/p>\n<p>He posted on X: \u201cThere has been talk of the clubs setting a deadline for Sesko\u2019s decision. From the English clubs\u2019 perspective, this makes sense- they need clarity to either move forward or walk away. Both Newcastle and Manchester United have alternative targets and cannot wait indefinitely. I believe a decision must be made in the coming days.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He adds that Manchester United are Sesko\u2019s first choice destination, but he wants clarity from the Red Devils that the club can fund a deal.<\/p>\n<p>He posted: \u201cNewcastle need confirmation that they have a genuine chance to sign him, while Manchester United must demonstrate that they can fund the deal. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs I\u2019ve said before, Sesko\u2019s first choice is Manchester United. However, he needs to be convinced that the club can actually get the deal done.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Manchester United can fund Benjamin Sesko move<\/p>\n<p>A move for Benjamin Sesko is not dependent on Rasmus Hojlund\u2019s exit, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/rasmus-hojlund-shares-very-clear-stance-on-manchester-uniteds-pursuit-of-benjamin-sesko\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Danish striker keen to stay<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/club\/stadium\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Old Trafford<\/a> and fight for his place.<\/p>\n<p>Manchester United can fund a mega-deal for Sesko after spreading payments on signing Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, while also landing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/how-much-man-utd-have-made-from-sell-on-clauses-and-extra-fees-in-summer-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">around \u00a320 million in sell-on fees<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>United also have funds incoming from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/antonys-representatives-make-clear-to-manchester-united-he-is-ready-to-take-significant-wage-drop-to-seal-dream-move\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">likely sales of Antony<\/a>, while there are also plans to shift Jadon Sancho\u2019s wages off the books after managing to do so <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/how-much-marcus-rashford-will-earn-at-barcelona-as-man-united-star-agrees-pay-cut\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">with Marcus Rashford<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sesko need not worry about United\u2019s ability to accomplish the deal, providing the fee is in the \u00a360-70 million range and RB Leipzig do not demand an astronomical figure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Manchester United are battling Newcastle to land German striker Benjamin Sesko.
