PHOENIX \u2014 Thin Blue Line Benefits Association, a healthcare provider based out of Texas, is being investigated by the Arizona Attorney General\u2019s Office for \u201cunlawfully providing insurance in Arizona,\u201d the government agency announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Attorney General Kris Mayes authorized<\/a> the investigation after the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions ordered a cease-and-desist order on Thin Blue Line, which has services geared to retired law enforcement.<\/p>\n

The healthcare provider was accused of improper handling of medical claims, as DIFI said<\/a> Thin Blue Line \u201cis not licensed to provide insurance in Arizona\u201d as a self-funded entity.<\/p>\n

The cease-and-desist document cited<\/a> that Thin Blue Line from January to June 2025 had collected nearly $6 million from 4,682 Arizona members.<\/p>\n

Retired Valley police and firefighters have falsely been told that they have \u201cunpaid medical bills.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thin Blue Line has until Aug. 15<\/a> \u201cto provide draft notices of cancellation to the department,\u201d which also means the company must send individual contract holders cancellation notices.<\/p>\n
