This alert also includes major cities and towns such as Portland, Lewiston, Augusta, Waterville, Bangor, Farmington, Rockland, and Biddeford.This alert also includes the majority of northern New England.The Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has issued this alert due to elevated levels of particle pollution, which are expected to remain &#8216;unhealthy for sensitive groups&#8217; through Monday night.Those most at risk include children, the elderly, those with preexisting health conditions, and anyone engaging in strenuous outdoor work or exercise.The DEP advises limiting intense outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of health issues.
