{"id":119662,"date":"2025-08-05T01:55:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T01:55:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/119662\/"},"modified":"2025-08-05T01:55:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T01:55:11","slug":"trump-calls-july-jobs-report-rigged","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/119662\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump calls July jobs report &#8220;rigged&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>U.S. President Donald Trump speaks to reporters near Air Force One at the the Lehigh Valley International Airport on August 03, 2025 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. <\/p>\n<p>Anna Moneymaker | Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/08\/01\/jobs-report-july-2025.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">July&#8217;s jobs report<\/a> revised previous months&#8217; figures down so dramatically that U.S. President Donald Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/114970631477859993\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">called<\/a> it &#8220;RIGGED&#8221; and &#8220;CONCOCTED.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Markets, however, seem to have shrugged off their worries for now \u2014 U.S. stocks rebounded Monday from the sell-off on Friday after the report was released.<strong> <\/strong>The move, however, could be more an instinctive reflex than a reflection of what&#8217;s really driving markets.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Today is sort of a bounce-back day,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/08\/03\/stock-market-today-live-updates.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> Sam Stovall, chief investment strategist at CFRA Research. &#8220;Stocks tend to pop after a drop, so that&#8217;s what&#8217;s happening.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have to wait and see what happens tomorrow, because there could be a possibility that investors think, &#8216;You know what, we really need to take some money off the table to digest some of these gains,'&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Trump&#8217;s new tariffs come into force on Aug. 7, so there&#8217;s a possibility investors could seize this opportunity, when markets have recovered slightly from Friday&#8217;s losses, to take profit first \u2014 and before any further slowdown, as suggested by July&#8217;s jobs report, is potentially &#8220;rigged&#8221; and strikes the U.S. economy.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"headline0\"\/>What you need to know today<a id=\"headline1\"\/>And finally&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Caution tape hangs near the steps of Federal Hall across from the New York Stock Exchange in New York.<\/p>\n<p>Michael Nagle | Bloomberg | Getty Images<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/08\/04\/contentious-july-jobs-report-confirms-the-us-economy-is-slowing-sharply.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Contentious July jobs report confirms the U.S. economy is slowing sharply.
