{"id":120529,"date":"2025-08-05T09:37:12","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T09:37:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/120529\/"},"modified":"2025-08-05T09:37:12","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T09:37:12","slug":"warriors-make-jonathan-kuminga-decision-after-45-million-rejection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/120529\/","title":{"rendered":"Warriors make Jonathan Kuminga decision after $45 million rejection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jonathan Kuminga seems likely to remain with the Warriors, at least for now.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sfstandard.com\/2025\/08\/04\/jonathan-kuminga-warriors-free-agency-trade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">The San Francisco Standard\u2019s Tim Kawakami <\/a>reported on Monday that Golden State is planning for Kuminga to be on its roster at the start of the 2025-26 season, despite efforts to pull off a sign-and-trade to give him a fresh start elsewhere.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe word I got when I checked in with a Warriors source on Sunday: Kuminga won\u2019t be traded this summer,\u201d Kawakami wrote in a column published on Monday. \u201cHe\u2019ll be back on the Warriors\u2019 roster to start the season. NBAE via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for Kuminga to sign his qualifying offer is Oct. 1 and he has indicated on social media that he would be willing to do it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In one post on his Instagram Story recently, Kuminga wrote, \u201cI\u2019ll bet on myself all day,\u201d accompanied by a picture of him and his agent talking.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He averaged 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists last season. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Jonathan Kuminga\u2019s latest Instagram story: \u201cI\u2019ll bet on myself all day\u201d with his agent tagged and pictured next to him <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/AHmpNaIgZE\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/AHmpNaIgZE<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Dalton Johnson (@DaltonJ_Johnson) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DaltonJ_Johnson\/status\/1950619386110243258?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">July 30, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Warriors have looked into trying to pull off a sign-and-trade involving the restricted free agent, though it\u2019s suggested in the column that it wasn\u2019t the preferred option by the organization or team owner Joe Lacob.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut several sources have indicated that the Warriors have been unenthusiastic about the general idea of a Kuminga sign-and-trade from the outset,\u201d Kawakami wrote. \u201cThe broad context is that Joe Lacob remains a fan of Kuminga\u2019s and is determined to either keep the 22-year-old on the roster or get real value in return.
