The Cleveland Browns are in the midst of training camp, just like every other NFL team. However, they may have the most intriguing quarterback battle in the league. Shedeur Sanders, Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, and Kenny Pickett are all competing for the starting job\u2014and former NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick believes one name stands out.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIf I was a betting man, Joe Flacco is gonna go into the year as the starter,\u201d Fitzpatrick said. \u201cHe has history there, he has success there, and I think it\u2019s a great story. He\u2019s a guy that\u2019ll bring calm, he\u2019s the guy that\u2019s going to be able to get them off on the right foot,\u201d Fitzpatrick continued. \u201cAs the season goes along, when you draft guys early, and when you have young exciting guys\u2014they\u2019re excited for Gabriel\u2014we could see him inserted into the lineup.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fitzpatrick doesn\u2019t think Sanders is quite ready yet, but ESPN\u2019s Mike Tannenbaum strongly disagrees.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cGuys, Shedeur Sanders,\u201d Tannenbaum said on Get Up. \u201cThis is a no-brainer. I want you to take some copious notes here. Since 2000, there\u2019s only been six quarterbacks start a game under six feet tall. That\u2019s Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray, Bryce Young, PJ Walker, Seneca Wallace, and Doug Flutie. Exactly. So, to me, even though Dillon Gabriel went in the third round, I would start Shedeur Sanders. Let them fight it out on the field, but to me, Shedeur Sanders has the better pro body and more upside.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, former NFL QB Robert Griffin III believes the Browns are setting Sanders up to fail.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cShedeur Sanders is being set up to fail in Cleveland. But God\u2019s got him showing out even with limited reps,\u201d Griffin posted.<\/p>\n

His comment came shortly after the Browns signed quarterback Tyler Huntley<\/a>, further crowding an already packed QB room. Griffin may believe that Huntley\u2019s addition will take even more reps away from Sanders, who is already receiving fewer opportunities than the others.
