Remember, this is a team that didn’t make the playoffs every year from 2005 until 2017, and one that had just a single year getting past the first round of the postseason in franchise history prior to 2024. The state of Minnesota as a whole is yearning for a sports title<\/a>. None of their major men’s sports teams has won it all since the Twins won the World Series in 1991.<\/p>\n Having a top young player (who actually turns 24 today) in Edwards, who also started off his career in Minnesota, makes it even more enjoyable to root for the team. In each of the last two seasons, he has finished seventh in MVP voting and made the All-NBA second team. Remarkably, he’s already the franchise’s third all-time leading scorer with 9,097 points (close to halfway to Kevin Garnett’s<\/a> franchise record of 19,201).
