\n\tGeorge Clooney\u2019s \u201cJay Kelly,\u201d Joachim Trier\u2019s \u201cSentimental Value\u201d and Park Chan-wook\u2019s \u201cNo Other Choice\u201d have been added to the New York Film Festival<\/a> lineup.<\/p>\n

\n\tThis year\u2019s main slate will showcase 34 films, including Cannes prizewinners (Jafar Panahi\u2019s \u201cIt Was Just an Accident,\u201d Bi Gan\u2019s \u201cResurrection\u201d), Sundance darlings (Mary Bronstein\u2019s \u201cIf I Had Legs I\u2019d Kick You,\u201d Ira Sachs\u2019 \u201cPeter Hujar\u2019s Day\u201d) and Venice premieres (Kathryn Bigelow\u2019s \u201cA House of Dynamite,\u201d Kent Jones\u2019 \u201cLate Fame\u201d).<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201c\u200b\u200bAnyone who cares about film knows that it is an art in need of defending, like many of our core values today,\u201d said NYFF artistic director Dennis Lim. \u201cAcross all sections of the festival, the movies we have selected this year suggest that this safeguarding can take many guises: acts of rejuvenation and refusal, expressions of unease and joy, feats of imagination and commemoration. I am particularly struck by the diversity of approaches and forms among the films in this Main Slate, which affirms that the art of cinema is more than capable of thriving, even in difficult times.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs previously announced, New York Film Festival will open on Sept. 26 with Luca Guadagnino\u2019s \u201cAfter the Hunt.\u201d Jim Jarmusch\u2019s \u201cFather Mother Sister Brother\u201d has been set as the centerpiece, while Bradley Cooper\u2018s dramatic comedy \u201cIs This Thing On?\u201d is the closing night film. Screenings will take place at Lincoln Center, as well as Alamo Drafthouse Cinema (Staten Island), AMC Bay Plaza Cinema (Bronx), BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) (Brooklyn) and the Museum of the Moving Image (Queens).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
