{"id":121427,"date":"2025-08-05T17:28:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T17:28:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/121427\/"},"modified":"2025-08-05T17:28:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T17:28:11","slug":"project-newark-eyes-135m-expansion-that-would-bring-200-jobs-in-jacksonville","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/121427\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Project Newark\u2019 eyes $135M expansion that would bring 200 jobs in Jacksonville"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>JACKSONVILLE, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 A company operating under \u201cProject Newark\u201d is looking to expand its presence in Jacksonville.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The proposal from the Jacksonville Office of Economic Development said the potential project is expected to bring an investment of about $135 million and 200 new full-time jobs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">According to city documents, the Phoenix area could be the potential landing spot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Documents say the manufacturer already has operations in the city and is looking to build additional facilities to support the making of \u201cnew smokeless nicotine and a smokeless caffeine pouch product.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The project will go before the Finance Committee on Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The city is looking to offer a Recapture Enhanced Value (REV) Grant as an incentive. The grant would be for 50 percent of the increase in real and personal property taxes generated at the project site.
