Samsung announced that more Galaxy Watch devices will soon see the One UI 8 beta, but we have questions.

One UI 8 for the Galaxy Watch initially rolled out with the Galaxy Watch 8 series, which includes the base model, Watch 8 Classic, and Samsung’s new 2025 Galaxy Watch Ultra. All three models carry new features, including Samsung’s new tile system and several health updates. The OS, based on Wear OS 6, has been accepted as a welcome improvement on Samsung’s coalition OS with Google.

According to Samsung, One UI 8 is expanding to more Galaxy Watch models beyond the new ones. This much we knew, but the company laid out a vague timeline alongside the expected announcement. One UI 8 will come to other Galaxy Watch models “later this year.”

This could mean tomorrow, or it could mean December 31. There’s no telling when Samsung plans to release the One UI version to other models, but it won’t be too long considering we are approaching the end of the year.

Advertisement – scroll for more content

Further, Samsung didn’t specify which models would get One UI 8 stable. We can assume that the devices that Samsung previously noted would see the update, including all models down to the Galaxy Watch 4. It was initially thought the Galaxy Watch 4 wouldn’t receive the change, though Samsung has slightly extended its life with the push.

If you’re looking to get your hands on One UI 8 right now, the Watch 8 series offers that opportunity. Otherwise, you’ll need to wait an unconfirmed amount of time. Trade-ins are still fair if you go the Galaxy Watch 8 route, though they aren’t as good as they were during the pre-order phase. The Watch 8 starts at $349.

FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links. More.

It has been nothing but expected that Samsung would release One UI 8 for more Galaxy Watch models…

[18
705,158,67,132,68
0":"post-121839","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-gadgets","8":"tag-gadgets","9":"tag-technology","10":"tag-united-states","11":"tag-unitedstates","12":"tag-us
["GET
