NEW YORK \u2014 Last week the Dallas Wings upset the New York Liberty 92-82<\/a> in a game that became a distant memory on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

New York\u2019s Jonquel Jones had 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Liberty to an 85-76 victory over the Wings (8-21). New York (18-10) grabbed the lead out of the gate and held on to it throughout most of the game.<\/p>\n

\n

The Wings struggled from three in their 85-76 loss to the Liberty. They finished 6-of-27 on the night. The Liberty? 12-of-24 from behind the arc.<\/p>\n

But Dallas did out-rebound New York 45-35.<\/p>\n

Leonie Fiebich scored 14 points and Emma Meesseman, playing her first home game for the Liberty since her return to the WNBA, added 13. Chants of \u201cEmma!\u201d broke out at Barclay\u2019s Center following the victory.<\/p>\n

Paige Bueckers<\/a> had 21 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the Wings\u2019 first game since Dijonai Carrington was traded to the Lynx<\/a>. Dallas forward Maddy Siegrist scored 13 points in her first game after missing two months due to a knee injury. Arike Ogunbowale scored 14.<\/p>\n

Meesseman, a former finals MVP who last played in the league in 2022 before winning the EuroLeague Women\u2019s MVP the last three seasons, scored 11 points in her season debut on Sunday in an 87-78 win over Connecticut.<\/p>\n

Two free throws by Bueckers tied the game at 34 in the final minutes of the first half, before Stephanie Talbot hit a 3-pointer to give New York a lead it never gave up the rest of the way.<\/p>\n

Talbot reached double digits with 13 points while Sabrina Ionescu was relatively quiet, scoring nine points, three in the first half and six in the second.<\/p>\n

The Wings stayed close for the first three quarters before the Liberty extended their advantage to double digits as the fourth wound down.<\/p>\n

“It sucks. Nobody wants to lose games,” Wings coach Chris Koclanes said.<\/p>\n

Maddy Siegrist played well against the New York Liberty in her return to competition after missing more than a month due to injury.<\/p>\n

Siegrist had 13 points (6-9 FG) and 3 rebounds off the bench. She played 15 minutes.<\/p>\n
