{"id":123028,"date":"2025-08-06T07:31:12","date_gmt":"2025-08-06T07:31:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/123028\/"},"modified":"2025-08-06T07:31:12","modified_gmt":"2025-08-06T07:31:12","slug":"h-e-b-customers-express-excitement-for-new-northwest-side-store-near-utsa-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/123028\/","title":{"rendered":"H-E-B customers express excitement for new Northwest Side store near UTSA campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>SAN ANTONIO <\/strong> \u2013 University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) students and nearby residents will soon have a new grocery option with the opening of a new H-E-B store on the Northwest Side.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The grocery store, located at 7330 N Loop 1604 West near Babcock Road, will open at 6 a.m. on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The new H-E-B will give nearby UTSA students, who live on or off-campus, an accessible option for quick, easy meals or supplies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">KSAT was invited to an advanced preview for the store on Tuesday. The preview featured a look at the store\u2019s True Texas BBQ restaurant and a vast selection of Southwest Asian cuisine. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cI\u2019m so excited about this new H-E-B opening up because it\u2019s a part of the community,\u201d Walnita Smith-Buckner, a Northwest Side resident, said at the preview. \u201cIt also serves like healthy food choices not only for families, but also for the college students in the area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Gabriella Solis, a UTSA graduate student, is among the crowd that Smith-Buckner says the store will serve.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Although she lives off-campus, Solis told KSAT that it will be convenient for H-E-B to be a \u201chop, skip, and jump\u201d away for her if she needs to pick up items.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Solis said the new store is within walking distance for on-campus students as well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Karen and John Poenisch, residents who have lived in the area for 16 years, shared their thoughts on the area\u2019s rapid expansion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cI personally like it because it offers us more choices, Karen said. \u201dI think growth is good all-around. I mean you\u2019re going to see it.
