\n\tJosh Brolin<\/a> has some ideas on how Stephen Colbert<\/a> can spend his time once The Late Show ends in May.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring Julia Garner\u2019s recent appearance<\/a> on the late night talk show, the actress and host realized they both get lengthy video messages from their mutual friend, Brolin.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe can be unpredictable,\u201d Colbert said of the Dune: Part Two actor. \u201cHe sends me, and I\u2019ve shown some of them on the show, he sends me video messages. Some of them are long. \u2026 Anywhere from five to 15 minutes long.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe does that to you too? Wow, I thought I was the only one,\u201d Garner quipped in response. She then proceeded to share that she brought a message from her Weapons co-star<\/a> for Colbert.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cStephen, it\u2019s Josh. Be nice to our girl,\u201d Brolin began in the clip. \u201cShe\u2019s a really sweet girl and she\u2019s really, really good in this movie. I hope you saw the movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAlso I want to say, how\u2019s your boat? Now that you\u00a0don\u2019t have a job, you\u2019ll be able to spend more time on the boat,\u201d the Avengers: Endgame actor continued, teasing Colbert after it was announced last month that The Late Show was canceled<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tBrolin also suggested one more idea for the host in his upcoming downtime: \u201cWatch the fucking Goonies, man.\u201d This isn\u2019t the first time the actor has called out Colbert for having never watched the 1985 cult classic. Brolin previously told the host during his 2022 appearance on The Late Show <\/a>that it\u2019s \u201cso sad\u201d he\u2019s never seen the movie.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Goonies, which starred Brolin as a teenager, followed a group of young misfits called The Goonies who discover an ancient map and set out on an adventure to find a legendary pirate\u2019s long-lost treasure.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast month, CBS canceled The Late Show With Stephen Colbert<\/a>, citing a \u201cfinancial decision\u201d amid a\u00a0declining linear TV landscape<\/a>. The long-running show is set to conclude at the end of the 2025-26 season.<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, some have questioned the reason for the cancellation, as Paramount\u00a0Global, the parent company of CBS, has been making some controversial moves \u2014 which included a $16 million settlement <\/a>with President Donald Trump, who sued over former Vice President Kamala Harris\u2019\u00a060 Minutes\u00a0interview \u2014 as it looked to appease the Trump administration amid its merger with Skydance, which had been waiting for FCC approval for more than a year. The federal agency approved the deal at the end of July.<\/a> <\/p>\n
