{"id":124016,"date":"2025-08-06T16:18:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-06T16:18:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/124016\/"},"modified":"2025-08-06T16:18:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-06T16:18:11","slug":"the-dish-tarrant-county-brunch-beckons-every-day-but-end-of-summer-specials-make-it-extra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/124016\/","title":{"rendered":"The Dish: Tarrant County brunch beckons every day but end of summer specials make it extra"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019ve discussed brunch spots several times in this column, but I suspect it\u2019s extremely unlikely you\u2019ve been to every single place and tasted every menu special available in Tarrant County.\u00a0That said, if I\u2019m wrong, and you can prove you actually have done this, please let me know \u2014 I\u2019d like to interview you.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, for slackers, here are some new brunch dishes, a donut update and a kids\u2019 discount up for grabs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keke\u2019s Breakfast Cafe serving $5 kid meals until late August<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In honor of back-to-school season, kids get <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kekes.com\/seasonal\/summer-2025\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">discounted meals<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kekes.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Keke\u2019s Breakfast Cafe<\/a>. With adult entrees of $8 or more, meals for kids 12 and under are $5 Monday-Friday until August 29. This applies to breakfast meals such as silver dollar pancakes or eggs, bacon and toast, or lunch items such as grilled cheese and cheeseburgers with fries.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For the grown-ups there are breakfast and brunch classics, including French toast, waffles, omelets and bowls, as well as paninis, sandwiches and salads for lunch. Adult and kid <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kekes.com\/menu\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">menus<\/a> are on their website. This franchise has two Fort Worth locations and is open 7 a.m.-2:30 p.m. all week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3000 S. Hulen St., Ste. 110, Fort Worth; 682-235-0627<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>9821 N. Freeway, Ste. 120, Fort Worth; 682-235-2432<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Those with a sweet tooth can try the new funnel crepes at <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofeuropearlingtontx.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Taste of Europe<\/a> in Arlington, a restaurant that specializes in Eastern European cuisine and features a grocery. They recently shared an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DMftMzUxBRy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram photo<\/a> of the dish with chocolate sauce, berries and whipped cream. Their website doesn\u2019t show brunch or breakfast menu, but regular crepes are on their <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofeuropearlingtontx.com\/menu\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">menu<\/a>, as are savory <a href=\"https:\/\/tastesbetterfromscratch.com\/blintzes\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">blintzes<\/a>, German sausage, Ukrainian borscht and potato pancakes plated solo or with bacon. That sounds like brunch to me.<\/p>\n<p>Taste of Europe accepts takeout orders online and on their app. They are open noon-8:30 Sunday and Wednesday-Thursday and noon-9:30 Friday-Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>1901 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington; 682-248-3070<\/p>\n<p><strong>Weekend brunch kicks off at Rex\u2019s Bar and Grill<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rexsftw.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rex\u2019s Bar and Grill<\/a> now serves <a href=\"https:\/\/rexsftw.com\/menu\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">weekend brunch<\/a>, according to a press release, and since pizzas appear prominently on their lunch and main menus, it\u2019s no surprise they\u2019re also offering a breakfast version with sausage, over-easy eggs and pickled jalapeno. Diners can also choose from breakfast tacos, bowls, migas, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thekitchn.com\/chilaquiles-recipe-268271\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">chilaquiles<\/a>, churro toast with strawberries, and fried chicken and waffles.<\/p>\n<p>Alcoholic beverages are also big at Rex\u2019s, with cheers to six brunch cocktails. Among them are bloody Marys, mimosas and a cinnamon toast martini with vanilla vodka, C<a href=\"https:\/\/specsonline.com\/shop\/spirits\/acre-cinnamon-girl-whiskey-6-case-2\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">innamon Girl<\/a> whiskey and horchata. Nonalcoholic drinks include horchata, five fruit juice varieties, tea, coffee and an iced vanilla latte. Their menus are available on their website.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1501 S. University Drive, Fort Worth; 817-968-7397<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Donuts roll out again at Spiral Diner<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/spiraldiner.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Spiral Diner<\/a> on West Magnolia Avenue was having issues with their donut fryer recently, according to their email newsletter. Last week they updated diners that the issue is fixed, meaning donuts are up and rolling again at the vegan diner. They start serving donuts at 7 a.m. and finish whenever they run out. Other early breakfast options include English muffin breakfast sandwiches.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For the brunch crunch, Spiral has all-day breakfasts, from pancakes, migas and tofu scrambles to breakfast tacos and a pancake grilled cheese sandwich. Gluten-free pancakes, migas, tacos and other dishes are also available.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1314 W. Magnolia Ave., Fort Worth; 817-332-8834<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ol\u2019 South Pancake House\u2019s \u201cBurgerama\u201d showcases lunchtime classic<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re wanting something more on the lunchy side of brunch, another back-to-school special option can be enjoyed at<a href=\"https:\/\/www.olsouthpancakehouse.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Ol\u2019 South Pancake House<\/a>. They\u2019re celebrating Burgerama by dishing out a hamburger trio. The Ol\u2019 Timer is made with sauteed onions, jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, avocados and bacon, while the T-Rex embodies the classic American cheeseburger with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, pickles and onion. The combo rounds out with their Cowtown burger, which brings some heat with a Cajun spiced patty, fried egg, bacon, cheddar and veggies.<\/p>\n<p>The eatery is also selling $25 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo\/?fbid=1072931291598253&amp;set=pb.100066441765730.-2207520000\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cTexas strong\u201d T-shirts<\/a> at their Fort Worth and Burleson locations and donating all T-shirt sale proceeds to Kerrville county flood victims.
