Davis and John Keefe <\/p>\n<p class=\"g-text svelte-urmhfi\">A minor, 2.7-magnitude earthquake struck in New Jersey on Tuesday, according to the United States Geological Survey.<\/p>\n<p class=\"g-text svelte-urmhfi\">The temblor happened at 12:11 p.m. Eastern about 1 mile southwest of Hillsdale, N.J., data from the agency shows.<\/p>\n<p class=\"g-text svelte-urmhfi\">The quake followed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/08\/02\/nyregion\/earthquake-new-york-new-jersey.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">slightly larger quake<\/a> in the same area Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"g-text svelte-urmhfi\">As seismologists review available data, they may revise the earthquake\u2019s reported magnitude.
