On the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=c3xfzY1Vg24&amp;t=4662s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dale Jr. Download<\/a> podcast, Earnhardt talked about the race and the challenges of being a team owner. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cXfinity race was kind of boring for the Junior Motorsports guys,\u201d Dale Earnhardt Jr. said. \u201cWe had a shot at winning it. We kind of stepped on our you know what.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the sucky part about being an owner is your cars running into each other. <strong>Connor [Zilisch] <\/strong>went down in the corner three-wide, missed the bottom, got loose and hit <strong>[Ross] Chastain,<\/strong> and Chastain got shoved up into <strong>[Justin] Allgaier<\/strong>, and Allgaier got spun out.  It feels like Allgaier gets run over by his teammates at least once or twice a year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earnhardt then said that every year he has had to sit with Allgaier and tell him that the younger drivers are going to make mistakes, and he\u2019s sorry that he is getting run over by them, and they don\u2019t take care of you. Earnhardt added that the young drivers at JR Motorsports have benefited from the work Allgaier has done. <\/p>\n<p>Dale Earnhardt Jr. says his young drivers are \u2018going to make mistakes\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is just the circumstances that happen when you got these young kids coming up through the program,\u201d Earnhardt said. \u201cIt\u2019s just like the Cars Tour. They are going to make mistakes, they are going to race hard, they are going to do things, they are going to get it wrong every now and then.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>JR Motorsports had five drivers compete <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/pro\/news\/sam-mayer-takes-advantage-of-late-restart-wins-hy-vee-perks-250-at-iowa-speedway\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in the Iowa race <\/a>this past weekend. Chastain finished third, Zilisch finished fourth. <strong>Carson Kvapil <\/strong>finished ninth, <strong>Sammy Smith<\/strong> finished 15th and Allgaier finished 16th.  After the race, Allgaier talked about getting a strong finish after he spun out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe fought hard with our BRANDT Professional Agriculture\/Precision Build Chevrolet today,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jrmracing.com\/2025\/08\/04\/chastain-zilisch-post-top-fives-in-rugged-iowa-speedway-battle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Allgaier said. <\/a>\u201cWe made a good call there at the end, but we just unfortunately didn\u2019t get a chance to see what we could do. We\u2019ll regroup, look ahead and aim to get that momentum back on our side next weekend in Watkins Glen.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Dale Earnhardt Jr. did not have the best experience while watching the NASCAR Xfinity race at Iowa.
