Dallas rapper BigXthaPlug<\/a>\u2019s country album, I Hope You\u2019re Happy, will arrive on Aug. 22. <\/p>\n

The project\u2019s announcement, which came in a Monday Instagram post<\/a>, follows several recent collaborations with some of country music\u2019s buzziest stars. <\/p>\n

Earlier this year, BigX was photographed<\/a> in a studio with Grapevine-raised artist Post Malone<\/a>, who had his own country crossover moment with F-1 Trillion<\/a>. <\/p>\n

In April, BigX hopped on the track \u201cAll the Way\u201d with Bailey Zimmerman. Together, the pair sing about severing ties after a romantic relationship. <\/p>\n

Then, in June\u2019s \u201cHome<\/a>,\u201d featuring Shaboozey, the topic of love came up again, but to a different tune. The lyrics paint a picture of men rushing on the highway to return to a lover. <\/p>\n

Shaboozey and BigX caused a stir in June, when their music video shoot for \u201cHome\u201d closed<\/a> down part of Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge near downtown Dallas for over seven hours. <\/p>\n

The bridge closure, which continued<\/a> into rush hour, brought motorists to a standstill at one point. Some commuters experienced delays and road detours. <\/p>\n

The musicians made a cheeky nod to the incident in the music video, which features a clip from coverage of the bridge closure from KXAS-TV (NBC5). <\/p>\n

I Hope You\u2019re Happy is preceded by the 2024 rap album Take Care<\/a>, on which BigX drew inspiration from soul and R&B sounds dating to the 1970s. <\/p>\n

The rapper rose to fame with the 2022 release of \u201cTexas,\u201d a song that pays homage to his upbringing in the Lone Star State. <\/p>\n
