Vivian Stringer, Jan Jensen, Molly Kazmer and many others.<\/p>\n Uzun arrives to a franchise struggling at the guard position. Point guard Ariel Atkins<\/a> just returned to the lineup on Tuesday after recovering from a leg injury for the past several weeks, and rookie Hailey Van Lith<\/a> missed several games with an ankle injury.<\/p>\n \u201cYou can see her get a lot of minutes tonight,\u201d Sky head coach Tyler Marsh told the press prior to the Sky\u2019s Aug. 1 game at Wintrust Arena. During her debut with the Sky, Uzun notched five points, four rebounds and one assist in 17 minutes on the court. Chicago narrowly lost to the Golden State Valkyries, 73-66.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cSev is just a solid player. I played with her overseas, and she\u2019s played in this league, and I think it takes pressure off of our guards, allows them to get some good shots, and for post players, too,\u201d Sky forward Elizabeth Williams<\/a> said after the Valkyries game. Williams and Uzun both played for the Turkish club Fenerbah\u00e7e S.K<\/a>. in the 2020\u201321 season.\u00a0<\/p>\n Uzun told The Next that playing alongside former teammate Williams has helped ease the transition.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI have someone \u2026 who knows me, and who knows what I can do, and is also a great post player who can pass and \u2026 that\u2019s all you want as a point guard,\u201d Uzun said. \u201cAnd playing with her, having her on the court \u2014 [it\u2019s] helped a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n Uzun is still settling in, and told The Next that she feels like she still has a lot to learn.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been pretty fun. I didn\u2019t have enough time to practice and be with the team, learn players and all that \u2014 or them learning me,\u201d Uzun said.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re just talking me through everything and just trying to support me\u201d Uzun said. \u201c \u2026 And I\u2019m just trying to give back.\u201d<\/p>\n![\"Sky](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/USATSI_26757966.jpg\")
