She will continue to executive produce content exclusive to HBO and HBO Max. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tShe first signed her deal in 2020.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tRichardson-Whitfield made Emmy history as the first Black woman nominated for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for HBO\u2019s Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty. She also served as executive producer and director on The Gilded Age, which has its third season season finale this Sunday, and the upcoming Task from creator Brad Ingelsby that stars Mark Ruffalo and Tom Pelphrey.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tShe earned an Emmy nomination in 2024 for Outstanding Drama Series for her role as EP on The Gilded Age. She also received two Gracie Awards for Winning Time and The Gilded Age that same year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tInspired by director Ava DuVernay, Richardson-Whitfield transitioned from a successful acting career to directing, beginning with two episodes of\u00a0Queen Sugar.\u00a0Her directing portfolio includes stints on Hulu\u2019s\u00a0Reprisal,\u00a0Apple\u2019s\u00a0See,\u00a0Netflix\u2019s\u00a0Dear White People, The Punisher\u00a0and\u00a0Altered Carbon,\u00a0and Starz\u2019\u00a0American Gods, among others.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBefore directing, Richardson-Whitfield starred in more than 20 movies such as The Great White Hype,\u00a0Antwone Fisher, and I Am Legend.
