\n\tUPDATED: <\/strong>Donald Trump<\/a> took some credit for another media figure\u2019s departure from the airwaves \u2014 even though, in the case of Howard Stern<\/a>, neither he nor SiriusXM has confirmed that he\u2019s about to exit.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn fact, Stern hosted his show on Wednesday, taking a break from his vacation and promising that he would return on Sept. 2. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019ll be back on the air live. I\u2019ve been refueling, so to speak,\u201d Stern said.<\/p>\n

\n\tBut reports that he\u2019s departing have swirled around right-wing media outlets.<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump was asked by a reporter, Brian Glenn of Real America\u2019s Voice, about the report as if it had been confirmed. \u201cHoward Stern announced that he and SiriusXM Radio are parting ways. Do you think that the hate Trump business model that has been in the business is going out of business because it\u2019s not popular with the American people?\u201d But Stern has not announced his departure.<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump responded, \u201cWell, it hasn\u2019t worked, and it hasn\u2019t worked for a long time. Colbert has no talent. I mean, I could take anybody here, I could go outside on the beautiful streets and pick a couple of people that would do just as well or better. They got higher ratings than he did. He\u2019s got no talent. Fallon has no talent. Kimmel has no talent. They\u2019re next. They\u2019re going to be going. I hear they are going to be going. I don\u2019t know, but I would imagine, because Colbert has better ratings than Kimmel or Fallon.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThen he added, \u201cHoward Stern is a name I haven\u2019t heard. I used to do his show. We used to have fun, but I haven\u2019t heard that name in a long time. What happened? He got terminated?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGlenn then claimed that Stern and SiriusXM were parting ways over salary.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou know when he went down? When he endorsed Hillary Clinton, he lost his audience. People said, \u2018Give me a break.\u2019 He went down when he endorsed Hillary Clinton.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tSiriusXM has not commented on the reports.<\/p>\n

\n\tStern has been critical of Trump, but he\u2019s still be a lucrative enough draw for SiriusXM to re-sign a lucrative new contract since the 2016 election. In 2020, Stern and the satellite broadcaster announced <\/a>a new five-year agreement.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast year, SiriusXM\u2019s Scott Greenstein said on an earnings call, \u201cAs for Howard, he\u2019s a singular talent. No one pretended when Johnny Carson or others retired that the new group would replace them. They were just simply filling in on those slots.
