{"id":125337,"date":"2025-08-07T03:51:08","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T03:51:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/125337\/"},"modified":"2025-08-07T03:51:08","modified_gmt":"2025-08-07T03:51:08","slug":"local-mans-restoration-of-1985-classic-car-becomes-family-treasure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/125337\/","title":{"rendered":"Local man&#8217;s restoration of 1985 classic car becomes family treasure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN ANTONIO \u2014 Lupe&#8217;s 1985 classic car is more than just a vehicle; it&#8217;s a cherished family treasure with deep roots in San Antonio. <\/p>\n<p>Lupe recounted the car&#8217;s history, saying, &#8220;It was purchased in San Antonio by my brother Winston in 1985 after he got out of service.&#8221; When Lupe inquired about the car&#8217;s future, his nephew Albert replied, &#8220;No, don&#8217;t have any plans for it right now.&#8221; Lupe then asked, &#8220;Can I have it?&#8221; and soon after, he took the car home.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle was in rough shape, with rust holes in the panels and a deteriorating vinyl top. Lupe dedicated significant time to restoring it, explaining, &#8220;Out of an eight-hour day or a 10 to 20-hour day, maybe I spent six hours on it.&#8221; Despite the challenges, he managed to preserve the car&#8217;s original upholstery, carpet, and seats.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A lot of the parts are very difficult to get nowadays,&#8221; Lupe said.
