SAN ANTONIO \u2014 Lupe’s 1985 classic car is more than just a vehicle; it’s a cherished family treasure with deep roots in San Antonio. <\/p>\n
Lupe recounted the car’s history, saying, “It was purchased in San Antonio by my brother Winston in 1985 after he got out of service.” When Lupe inquired about the car’s future, his nephew Albert replied, “No, don’t have any plans for it right now.” Lupe then asked, “Can I have it?” and soon after, he took the car home.<\/p>\n
The vehicle was in rough shape, with rust holes in the panels and a deteriorating vinyl top. Lupe dedicated significant time to restoring it, explaining, “Out of an eight-hour day or a 10 to 20-hour day, maybe I spent six hours on it.” Despite the challenges, he managed to preserve the car’s original upholstery, carpet, and seats.<\/p>\n
“A lot of the parts are very difficult to get nowadays,” Lupe said. However, his dedication paid off, and he recently completed a tune-up. “Everything you see on this vehicle right now is what I envision it to be,” he added.<\/p>\n
