{"id":125988,"date":"2025-08-07T09:34:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T09:34:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/125988\/"},"modified":"2025-08-07T09:34:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-07T09:34:10","slug":"trump-repeats-claim-kimmel-fallon-are-next-after-stephen-colbert-cancellation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/125988\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump repeats claim Kimmel, Fallon are &#8216;next&#8217; after Stephen Colbert cancellation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Donald Trump doubled down on Wednesday that late-night hosts Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel would be \u201cnext\u201d to be canceled during a press conference.<\/p>\n<p>During the presser, Real America\u2019s Voice reporter Brian Glenn asked about reports that radio host <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/08\/06\/us-news\/howard-sterns-future-with-siriusxm-up-in-the-air-as-500m-contract-nears-its-end\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Howard Stern may part ways with Sirius XM<\/a> after his contract expires this fall.<\/p>\n<p>With that in mind, Glenn asked if the \u201chate Trump\u201d entertainment model was losing popularity with Americans.<\/p>\n<p>Trump cited CBS\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/17\/entertainment\/late-show-with-stephen-colbert-canceled-by-cbs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">recent cancellation of \u201cThe Late Show with Stephen Colbert\u201d<\/a> as an example and added that he believes Fallon and Kimmel are next.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, it hasn\u2019t worked,\u201d Trump said. \u201cAnd it hasn\u2019t worked, really, for a long time, and I would say pretty much from the beginning. Colbert has no talent. I mean, I could take anybody here. I could go outside in the beautiful streets and pick a couple of people that do just as well or better. They\u2019d get higher ratings than he did. He\u2019s got no talent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued, \u201cFallon has no talent. Kimmel has no talent. They\u2019re next. They\u2019re going to be going. I hear they\u2019re going to be going. I don\u2019t know, but I would imagine because they\u2019d get\u2014you know, Colbert has better ratings than Kimmel or Fallon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>President Trump suggested Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel\u2019s late-night shows are \u201cnext\u201d to be canceled. AP<\/p>\n<p>CBS announced \u201cThe Late Show with Stephen Colbert\u201d will end in May 2026. AP<\/p>\n<p>Trump made a similar declaration on Truth Social after Colbert\u2019s show was canceled last month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe word is, and it\u2019s a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes and, shortly thereafter, Fallon will be gone,\u201d Trump wrote.<\/p>\n<p>He continued, \u201cThese are people with absolutely NO TALENT, who were paid Millions of Dollars for, in all cases, destroying what used to be GREAT Television. It\u2019s really good to see them go, and I hope I played a major part in it!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes,\u201d President Trump wrote on Truth Social. Rosalind O&#8217;Connor\/NBC via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Although some liberal commentators claimed CBS canceled Colbert\u2019s show for political reasons to appease Trump, Paramount\u2014CBS\u2019 parent company\u2014insisted it was \u201cpurely a financial decision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Regarding Stern, Trump remarked how he used to \u201chave fun\u201d when he appeared on his show. He went on to say that Stern went downhill after endorsing Hillary Clinton for president in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe lost his audience. People said give me a break.
