ENCINITAS: Volunteers send hundreds of Comfort Cubs to Texas flood victims\u2026
\nVolunteers from Encinitas-based nonprofit, The Comfort Cub, gathered at a home in Carlsbad, with members of the National Charity League Surf Cities Chapter to pack 500 therapeutic, weighted teddy bears \u2018Comfort Cubs\u2019 in boxes to send to Central Texas flood victims. The nonprofit Comfort Cub, was founded 25 years ago to provide therapeutic teddy bears to help heal Broken Heart Syndrome for folks suffering a significant loss or trauma. The nonprofit was started by\u00a0Marcella Johnson, who lost her infant son and began donating Comfort Cubs to hospitals and grieving parents who lost their children.\u00a0
