HOUSTON<\/strong> \u2013 A Houston firefighter was injured after getting trapped in a home while responding to a call on the city\u2019s South Side.<\/p>\n

It happened around 12:30 a.m. when the Houston Fire Department<\/a> said they were leaving another call and saw a column of smoke coming from a home on Botany Ln near Scott Street, and saw flames shooting from the roof.<\/p>\n

Crews made their way into the home and tried looking for any residents inside, as initial reports they got said someone was inside. No one was found. <\/p>\n

When conditions in the home worsened, the HFD captain had them leave, but one of the firefighters couldn\u2019t get out. <\/p>\n

SUGGESTED: <\/b>Man with lengthy rap sheet, active warrants arrested after elderly woman trapped inside burning Montgomery Co. home<\/a><\/p>\n

That firefighter, however, was able to get out of the window but suffered burns and was rushed to a hospital in stable condition. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear what led up to the fire, but arson units are working to investigate the cause.<\/p>\n
