Many of these figures grew up riding Metro \u2014 on buses like the 108 or trains like the Blue Line \u2014 and Metro played a pivotal role in their personal journeys,\u201d per the Metro\u00a0said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metro.net\/nipsey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Metro website<\/a>. \u201cThrough this series, Metro aims to amplify L.A. culture by showcasing stories of real influence and legacy, boost engagement with TAP by inspiring riders to collect cards that hold personal meaning, and reinforce Metro\u2019s role as a catalyst for everyday life and opportunity in Los Angeles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The TAP cards will be available at the Hyde Park, Crenshaw, Slauson, Compton, Hollywood\/Vine and Expo\/Crenshaw stations (as well as Metro Customer Centers) while supplies last.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Metro will temporarily rename the K line&#8217;s Hyde Park Station to \u201cNipsey Hussle Station,\u201d in an acknowledgement of the rapper\u2019s legacy and near the site of his Marathon Clothing store. The name change will last from Friday, August 15 to Sunday, August 31.<\/p>\n<p>Known\u00a0for his raw lyricism and entrepreneurial spirit,\u00a0Hussle\u2014born\u00a0Ermias Joseph Asghedom\u2014championed community investment, education and economic empowerment across Los Angeles. From Crenshaw to the world,\u00a0the rapper&#8217;s legacy and message (&#8220;The Marathon Continues&#8221;)\u00a0are\u00a0powerful calls to keep striving, building and uplifting.
