If you were among those concerned, here\u2019s some good news.<\/p>\n<p>Sony Group CFO Sue Lin said that Xperia is \u201ca very important business for us\u201d during a briefing on the company\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/sonys_image_sensor_division_posts_record_income_smartphone_business_continues_to_shrink-news-68378.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">financial results<\/a> earlier today. Lin repeated something that Sony has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/sony_ceo_xperia_phones_are_here_to_stay-news-29215.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">stated in the past too<\/a> \u2013 \u201ccommunication technology is used for things other than smartphones\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-image\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" alt=\"Sue Lin, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Sony Group\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1754633410_715_gsmarena_001.jpg\"\/><br \/>\n<strong>Sue Lin, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Sony Group<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The launch of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/sony_xperia_1_vii_5g-13843.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sony Xperia 1 VII<\/a> hasn\u2019t been smooth sailing \u2013 issues forced Sony to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/sony_stops_selling_the_xperia_1_vii_to_fix_software_issues-news-68500.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pause sales<\/a> and announce a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/sony_announces_xperia_1_vii_replacement_program-news-68647.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">replacement program<\/a>.
