Trump earlier in the week tore into Colbert<\/a> and fellow late night hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon. <\/p>\n

\u201cColbert has no talent,\u201d the president said. \u201cFallon has no talent. Kimmel has no talent.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump has been celebrating last month\u2019s cancellation<\/a> of Colbert\u2019s show, and on Wednesday predicted that the two Jimmys will be \u201cnext\u201d because \u201cColbert has better ratings than Kimmel or Fallon, you know that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew that,\u201d Colbert agreed with the president, but also defended his late night colleagues: \u201cTo be fair, I think we\u2019re all equally untalented.\u201d <\/p>\n

But he also had a surprise for the president. <\/p>\n

\u201cThank you for watching, sir,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd thank you for agreeing to be in our new promo.\u201d <\/p>\n

He rolled a new mock promo clip for \u201cThe Late Show\u201d celebrating his ratings.<\/p>\n

\u201cStephen Colbert is number one in late night,\u201d the voice in the ad stated. \u201cJust ask our elderly viewers.\u201d<\/p>\n

That led to the clip of the president noting Colbert\u2019s ratings. <\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone\u2019s watching,\u201d the promo pointed out, adding: \u201cStill canceled.\u201d <\/p>\n

Colbert\u2019s show was canceled last month as CBS\u2019 parent company, Paramount, attempted to complete a merger that required federal approval. Given Trump\u2019s open hatred of the show, critics said the company was trying to win Trump\u2019s favor to help the deal pass FCC muster.<\/p>\n

The company also paid Trump $16 million<\/a> to settle a lawsuit that most legal observers believed was without merit.<\/p>\n
