Irving-based NCH and Wilmington, Delaware-based Solenis have agreed to merge in a deal in which Solenis will acquire 100% of NCH stock, creating \u201ca more diversified, customer-centric provider of water and hygiene solutions,\u201d the companies said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

NCH was originally founded in Dallas in 1919 by Milton P. Levy as National Disinfectant Company. Under the terms of the merger, the Levy family will become the largest minority shareholder in Solenis. The transaction\u2019s further financial terms were not disclosed.<\/p>\n

A leading provider of cleaning, water treatment, plumbing, and other maintenance solutions for industrial and commercial clients, NCH has 6,000 employees providing water treatment and industrial solutions to customers through 24 manufacturing plants and 76 distribution centers across 48 countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur grandfather started NCH over a century ago to provide customers with the highest quality solutions, served by the best trained professionals,\u201d the Levy family said in a joint statement. \u201cSince then, our family and associates have diligently pursued that vision and merging with Solenis is the best way to take a great business and make it even better. We\u2019re committed to our associates and customers and know they will continue to thrive with Solenis.\u201d<\/p>\n

The transaction is expected to close by the end of the year. Solenis and NCH will continue to operate as independent companies until the transaction is complete, the companies said.<\/p>\n

Solenis is a global provider of water and hygiene solutions. It was acquired by Platinum Equity in 2021.<\/p>\n

Together, the newly combined company will provide attractive cross-selling opportunities, including meeting the increasing customer demand for sustainable and digital solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chris Wright, president of NCH Global Chemical said the merger improves both companies.<\/p>\n
